Aquatics Program Supervisor

Position OverviewThe Aquatics Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the safety standards, program quality, member engagement, and overall satisfaction within the Aquatics Department. This role involves assisting the Aquatics Director in managing the Aquatics Lifeguard team and Lifeguard Instructors. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising facility operations and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Coordinating program schedules and operational timelines for aquatic activities.
- Managing timekeeping for aquatics staff and ensuring all training and certifications are current.
- Providing leadership in maintaining safe operations aligned with organizational policies.
- Supporting the Aquatics Director in the development and enhancement of aquatics programs and staff.
- Engaging in direct service activities, including lifeguarding and swim instruction, for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Compensation: Hourly wage ranges from $28.00 to $33.00.
Essential Qualifications- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Availability for morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts, including a minimum of one weekend day per week.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Aquatics Operations.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Current certification in Lifeguarding and related emergency response training.
Note: The YMCA will provide necessary training upon hiring if certifications are not already held.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in supervising and leading teams for at least 2 years.
All staff members at the YMCA are considered to have supervisory responsibilities regarding minors. Employment offers are contingent upon successful background checks. In accordance with local fair chance legislation, qualified applicants with prior convictions will be considered for employment.
