Role Summary: Under the guidance of the Aquatics Director, the Swim Instructor/Lifeguard is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading various aquatic activities tailored for individuals with disabilities and diverse customer groups. This role also encompasses providing exceptional customer service, maintaining facility standards, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Oversight:
  • Deliver lifeguarding services to all facility patrons daily.
  • Lead and facilitate aquatic programs.
  • Assist participants in the water as per schedule.
  • Conduct group swim lessons as assigned.
  • Support all program activities as needed.
Administrative Functions:
  • Ensure positive customer interactions and maintain an organized front desk.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for patrons, providing information on services.
  • Register customers for appropriate aquatic classes.
  • Oversee customer sign-in for select classes.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as required.
Safety and Maintenance:
  • Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in the pool area.
  • Maintain pool equipment and consult with supervisors for repairs.
  • Execute other safety and cleanliness tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage responsibilities and possess the following:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current lifeguard training, First Aid, and CPR certification.
  • Preferred: Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Clear criminal background check.
