POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Specialist will be an integral member of the Finance/Admin team, reporting directly to the Controller. This role involves assisting in the input of financial data into the accounting system to facilitate the generation of monthly financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include:

  • Generating invoices in accordance with contract requirements and accurately recording payments
  • Executing banking operations, including fund transfers and wire transactions
  • Managing the complete accounts payable cycle, from coding vendor invoices to ensuring timely payments
  • Communicating with vendors to address inquiries and resolve issues
  • Maintaining vendor documentation
  • Preparing deposits and updating the accounting system
  • Generating 1099 forms
  • Identifying opportunities for enhancing accounting processes and collaborating with the Finance team to improve departmental efficiency
  • Assisting in the preparation of audit materials and tax documentation
  • Performing additional tasks as required

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a schedule from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend or after-hours work required throughout the year. This role is not remote, and conditions and benefits are outlined in the Employee Manual.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree with substantial coursework in accounting, business, or a related field. Relevant work experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, particularly in accounts payable and/or receivable.
  • Proficiency in automated accounting software
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to produce high-quality work
  • Experience with Great Plains / MS Dynamics
  • Familiarity with NetSuite
  • Knowledge of Squareworks AP Automation
