About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Operations Manager to join our team at ACL Digital. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our residential facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and operations of our residential facilities, including staff supervision and budget management.
  • Work closely with our Faculty Dean(s) and Resident Dean to provide a smoothly functioning living environment.
  • Interact with student residents, responding to building problems and requests promptly and resolving them quickly.
  • Direct the day-to-day activity of custodial staff, building trades, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of work.
  • Maintain the security of our buildings through proper attention to access control, security procedures, and the condition of locking devices.
  • Review and monitor computer-based HVAC, security, and fire systems, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Work closely with our Operations and Maintenance teams to implement best practices and participate in sustainability efforts.
  • Respond to emergency situations as appropriate during working and off-hours.
  • Occasionally work on planned weekend shifts, including student move-in and move-out and Summer School move-in.

Requirements

  • Advanced education and/or technical training beyond high school.
  • 5+ years' experience in facilities management, including staff supervision experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with building automated control systems, including security and HVAC.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to assess needs, set priorities, and deal with stressful situations.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in work order systems, daily maintenance, invoice processing, budget, and payroll management.
  • Demonstrated experience with building automated control systems, including security and HVAC.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform daily physical activity, including walking and climbing stairs.

Critical/Essential Status

  • This position is designated as essential and critical to the operations of ACL Digital during emergency situations and severe inclement weather.
