Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Business Development and Growth to join our team at Medix. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving business growth by creating new opportunities and expanding existing relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Identify and establish new business opportunities through interaction with key players at targeted pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance to ensure overall satisfaction and consistent quality of service.
  • Contract Negotiations: Work closely with the Contracts Attorney and VP/GM Center of Learning to facilitate contract negotiations.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and foster relationships with key decision makers of clients to secure new business opportunities and expand on existing business.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in tracking system.
  • Presentation Skills: Create and conduct presentations to ensure clients have a clear understanding of Medix Services.
  • Strategic Development: Develop educational strategy, presentations, and customized proposals for customers based on their objectives, desired tactics, and budget parameters.
  • Client Needs: Obtain a full understanding of the clients' needs and challenges, clearly articulating these to internal stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge: Attend conferences and seminars to promote Medix with targeted clients.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively within Medix and cross-functional colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 5+ years of business development experience selling promotional medical education, medical communications services, and scientific programs.
  • Science Sales Background: Science sales background with understanding of clinical research.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Marketing or equivalent.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills.
  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record in sales and closing deals establishing and managing KPIs.
  • Therapeutic Areas: Work across multiple therapeutic areas and geographic areas (US and Global).
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Writing Skills: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Public Speaking: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills:
  • Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Browsers, and cloud-based enterprise solutions.
Specialized Training:
  • Certification: GCP Certification Training w/HIPAA.
Certificates and Licenses:
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license and personal auto insurance.
