Job Overview

Franklin Companies, a distinguished name in real estate development, property management, and construction, is seeking a Corporate Director of Business Development. This pivotal role is designed to support our ongoing expansion in the multifamily and senior housing sectors.

Position Summary
This role will report directly to the President of Franklin Companies and will be integral to a dedicated team focused on the development, construction, and management of our multifamily and senior housing projects. The successful candidate will engage with brokers, property owners, and developers to foster relationships and uncover potential third-party management opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a professional representative of Franklin Companies within the multifamily and senior housing sectors, engaging with stakeholders who may require third-party management services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key players in the multifamily real estate and senior housing markets, including developers, brokers, REITs, private equity firms, and various ownership structures across Texas and neighboring states.
  • Establish new connections and enhance existing ones with housing authorities, housing finance agencies, and governmental bodies related to affordable housing initiatives in targeted markets.
  • Stay informed about market dynamics in regions where the company is exploring management or development prospects.
  • Regularly communicate with brokers and property owners to identify potential management opportunities for both marketed and off-market properties.
  • Travel as necessary, including site visits to prospective management opportunities and tours of competitive properties, dedicating 25 to 50% of time outside the office.
  • Provide internal updates regarding viable leads, opportunities, challenges, and requirements to secure business.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and construction teams once potential clients are identified to effectively market our services.
  • Work alongside operational, accounting, and corporate team members to prepare and present management proposals, due diligence contracts, and other necessary documentation.
  • Expand the existing third-party management business in multifamily and senior housing by securing new contracts while maintaining relationships with current clients.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure a seamless transition once new business is acquired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of progressive experience in multifamily real estate third-party management and senior housing management.
  • Experience collaborating with conventional multifamily and senior housing owners/developers, as well as housing authorities and non-profit organizations.
  • A Bachelor's degree in business with a focus on real estate or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proactive, intuitive, collaborative, self-motivated, and team-oriented attributes.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Capability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
