Responsibilities:

The Travel Coordinator is tasked with organizing and coordinating travel and accommodation arrangements for unaccompanied minors and their escorts, facilitating reunifications or transfers between government facilities.

This role involves assessing flight durations for each minor's movement and selecting the most efficient and cost-effective travel options to minimize travel time.

The Travel Coordinator will handle flight bookings, itineraries, and associated arrangements (such as hotels and rental cars) for both the escort and the unaccompanied minors, while also inputting transportation requests into the scheduling system.

Key Functions Include:
  • Reviewing transportation requests for accuracy to ensure safe transport of minors.
  • Coordinating travel arrangements to ensure bookings are completed promptly.
  • Utilizing the scheduling system to find available flights and working with travel partners for bookings.
  • Collaborating with management to identify qualified transportation specialists and confirming their availability.
  • Assisting with changes or cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances and communicating relevant travel information.
  • Providing exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
Qualifications:

Applicants should possess an associate degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience.

A minimum of two years of documented experience in transportation, travel, business, social work, or a related field is required.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with various departments and clients are essential.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

Fluency in both Spanish and English is advantageous.

Security Requirements:

Selected candidates may be subject to a government background investigation and must meet specific employment conditions.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the mobility to attend meetings and the dexterity to perform tasks such as writing and typing.
