Technology & Systems Department

The Technology & Systems department spearheads technological innovation for the organization and advances the technology strategy to support global expansion. This encompasses IT, Software Development, OT / Automation Systems, and business process enhancement. At Vantage, we take a hands-on approach. We typically specify, procure, configure, and maintain all networking and server hardware. We also collaborate closely with partner VARs to stay informed about the latest technological advancements, enabling us to make informed purchasing decisions. The Technology & Systems department plays a vital role in designing the networking infrastructure for each of our new data center facilities, including diverse pathways connecting to carriers, meet-me room hosting (rack, cabs, ladders, cross-connect panels...), wireless AP coverage, and more.

We rely on extensive collaboration with Sales, Construction, Operations, and Corporate Functions to drive simplification and establish global standards, focusing on continuous improvement and speed to value. Our objective is to create a reliable, scalable, sustainable, and secure technology roadmap that enhances our ability to serve our customers and employees effectively, positioning us as the partner of choice. We emphasize speed to value with financial and execution discipline, striving to double the good and halve the bad in half the time.

Position Overview

Vantage is seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Technical Project Coordinator, Global, to facilitate the successful execution of projects for the Network and IT Construction departments. As a key contributor, this role will regularly interface with internal teams such as Construction and manage external suppliers.

The ability to influence and build consensus across teams at all organizational levels is essential for success in this position. A solid understanding of business processes, challenges, and objectives is necessary to provide insightful ideas and innovative solutions when confronted with issues. Ultimately, this role is ideal for someone who is forward-thinking and adept at navigating obstacles.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead project planning, resource management, reporting, and implementation of projects globally for the IT Construction team.
  • Design and develop performance measurements, metrics, and dashboards to deliver analytical insights to business partners.
  • Manage complex data center migrations primarily in North America, with additional projects in EMEA and APAC.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.

Duties

  • Coordinate and deliver IT Construction projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Negotiate and influence effectively with multiple teams that have competing priorities, reducing conflict and fostering better relationships to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate within IT departments to ensure that upon successful project completion, all manuals, training, and handover activities are finalized.
  • Partner with procurement to engage with suppliers and vendors, assist with pricing negotiations, and coordinate work as necessary.
  • Create clear and accurate reports for business partners throughout the project's lifecycle.
  • Continuously assess ongoing projects, identify potential issues, and strategically adapt plans to overcome challenges.
  • Assign and oversee project tasks for all impacted customers and hold the team accountable while working towards established milestones.
  • Coach, mentor, and train others on continuous improvement techniques and standard methods for reporting results.
  • Utilize Technical Project Management expertise to enhance all aspects of project planning, resource management, reporting, solution evaluation, and implementation.
  • Solve technical challenges and implement preventative measures through data analysis, root cause identification, and effective control plans.
  • Work closely with teams to provide analytical insights, process enhancements, operational excellence, and customer success.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience with a focus on continuous improvement in a technical field, demonstrating measurable results.
  • Extensive experience managing complex data center migrations with an emphasis on IT Design.
  • Strong understanding of networking within a data center and its interconnections with various systems such as Security, BMS, etc.
  • Excellent statistical analysis skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly skilled in reporting Key Performance Indicators using automated reporting and live dashboards, applicable at all organizational levels.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask and contribute quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project, and ServiceNow.
  • Possession of accredited professional project management certifications such as Prince2, APM (PMQ/PPQ), and Agile.
  • This position requires work to be performed in a company-designated office or field location in accordance with the company's flexible working policy, at least three days a week.
  • Travel is expected to be 15 to 20%, but may increase as the business evolves.
