Job Summary

As a Regional Sales Manager at Steel Dynamics, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, driving sales growth, and executing sales strategies to achieve business objectives. This role requires a self-sufficient, innovative, and results-driven individual who can work independently and collaboratively with the sales and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including contacts at all levels across various functions within customer organizations.
  • Work closely with the sales and operations teams to creatively achieve company and customer objectives.
  • Provide market intelligence to the sales team to help shape sales strategies, price, and inventory levels.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue from customers by selling value-added products to enhance market share.
  • Manage accounts, including understanding margin analysis, competitive market information, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and assist in the development and execution of appropriate sales and commercial programs to drive growth and revenue.
  • Travel frequently, with overnights mandatory.

Requirements
  • Sales experience.
  • Strong business acumen, excellent customer service, interpersonal, and both oral and written communication skills; persuasive negotiation skills.
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships quickly.
  • Effective problem-solving/conflict resolution skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Assertive/Confident - ability to ask for orders, demand mutual respect within buyer/seller transaction while maintaining humility.
  • Keen attention to detail with a strong aptitude for math.
  • Ability to work well and excel within a team or individually.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Multiple years of field/territory management experience.
  • Microsoft Office experience, specifically Excel.
  • Outside sales/travel experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Flexibility to relocate in the future - multiple divisions.
