Business Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced business leader to drive growth and manage markets across the New York City Metropolitan area for DoorDash USA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a region of diverse markets, owning the profit and loss (P&L), and leading a diverse employee population of salaried and hourly individuals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and Manage: Recruit, lead, and retain an excellent team of builders and owners. You will be a culture carrier and set the tone for your team.
- Build and Launch: Launch new markets and facilities, and drive continuous improvement. This includes developing high-level strategies and paying attention to details.
- Manage and Grow: Develop the vision for markets in your region, guide growth, and directly manage the P&L.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Work with multiple teams, including engineering, product, design, operations, finance, and marketing to build and grow our business.
- Leadership Experience: 3+ years of people management experience, leading people leaders with direct reports. Bonus points if you have managed salaried and hourly individuals.
- Business Acumen: You are equally comfortable operating at a high level and getting into the details. You are comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team.
- Results-Oriented: You want to own the outcome and positively impact our key metrics. You have a growth mindset and are not deterred by setbacks. You have experience leading projects, hitting goals, and succeeding in a team environment.
- Data-Driven: You let data drive your decisions and are comfortable leveraging SQL or modeling in Excel to tell a story.
- Business Experience: 8+ years of experience in expanding businesses, whether in tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, logistics, or a related field.
- Travel Requirements: This role will require 30%+ travel time.
- Education: BA/BS degree required.
