Position Overview


The Analytical Instruments division within Water Technologies and Solutions is seeking a Sales Account Manager for the tri-state area.

Role Purpose


This position entails representing our growing array of industry-leading chemical and biological water testing solutions, which include instruments, consumables, and services, across Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The selected candidate will forge robust partnerships with our extensive customer base, leverage commercial acumen to uncover new sales opportunities, and collaborate with our comprehensive sales support network, including inside sales and application specialists, to ensure customer success.

This territory has a rich history of growth in the life sciences sector, and we are eager to welcome a new team member who will drive business expansion through customer-centric initiatives, innovative problem-solving, and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

- Generate new business by leveraging an extensive customer network to surpass sales targets.
- Cultivate and maintain business relationships, conduct equipment demonstrations as necessary, and support the sale of aftermarket products (consumables and services).
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to foster positive relationships and ensure long-term success.
- Serve as the primary contact for customers, addressing their needs promptly.
- Establish and monitor sales account objectives aligned with company goals, tracking sales metrics such as quarterly results and bi-annual forecasts.
- Participate in company-sponsored trade shows within the territory and identify local or regional conferences that could create sales opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Exceptional communication skills.
- Experience with analytical instruments, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sectors.
- Strong interpersonal and customer-oriented skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of industrial applications for product lines and markets.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Self-motivated with superior time management, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Willingness to work in various settings, including GMP facilities, laboratories, and production areas.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related Life Sciences field.
- Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in selling analytical instruments or capital equipment and consumables to cGMP biotech, biopharma, and life science companies or equivalent experience.

Preferred:
- Over 5 years of experience in analytical instruments capital equipment sales is preferred.

Working Conditions:
- Travel required: 50%, with up to 25% overnight.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 45 lbs.
- Valid driver's license is mandatory.

This range serves as a guideline, with offers based on individual knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and internal equity.

The final offer may vary based on these considerations: $85,000 - $115,000 annually.
