We are currently seeking a seasoned Audit Partner to enhance our Asset Management division in California. RSM's Financial Services practice merges our extensive resources, expertise, and profound industry insight in Asset Management, Specialty Finance, and Fintech, all while providing a high level of partner engagement and personalized service delivery. Our specialized teams are strategically positioned to focus on each Financial Services company audit effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Audit engagement leader and/or client service coordinator, overseeing the auditing of all necessary financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables.
  • Manage multiple engagements, monitor engagement progress, and ensure the achievement of project milestones for clients in the Financial Services, Asset Management, Specialty Finance, and Fintech sectors.
  • Proactively identify technical accounting issues and evaluate their impact on financial statements; collaborate with firm specialists as necessary.
  • Review work products and regularly communicate audit status to clients, assessing resources required for project completion.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with clients throughout the year to cultivate deeper relationships and better understand their goals and strategies.
  • Oversee project profitability and strategize for the Firm's growth.
  • Evaluate risks and design as well as communicate audit procedures to engagement teams.
  • Formulate strategies to leverage external relationships with various Centers of Influence to drive business growth.
  • Provide valuable business insights and establish yourself as a trusted business advisor.
  • Understand the skills and capabilities of team members, monitor their work, and provide performance feedback along with coaching notes throughout the process.
  • Foster the development of others within the Firm by facilitating training sessions, advising on career progression, or participating in other Firm initiatives.
  • Anticipate and address client concerns, escalating issues as they arise.
  • Ensure continuous professional development through ongoing education.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments affecting GAAP and the Firm's standards and policies.
Required Qualifications:
  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA Certification.
  • A minimum of 12 years of current or recent audit experience in a public accounting environment, specifically focusing on financial services clients.
  • At least 8 years of experience auditing organizations within Financial Services, Asset Management, Banking, Specialty Finance, or Fintech.
  • A proven track record of establishing profitable, sustainable client relationships.
  • A successful history of directing and deploying team members across multiple simultaneous engagements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of audit services, including knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and FASB regulations.
