Team Overview
The Business Consulting Services division offers extensive internal and performance audit solutions to clients across the Western United States. We assist clients in implementing effective solutions through policy and procedure development, organizational restructuring, process enhancement, and training. Our collaborative team is dedicated to delivering exceptional client service through strong relationships and high-quality outcomes.
We are looking for a Senior Compliance and Audit Specialist to join our team. This multifaceted role will emphasize grant management, compliance assistance, and internal audit services, primarily targeting governmental, tribal, and non-profit organizations.

Key Responsibilities
- Initiate project planning activities and establish compliance monitoring frameworks.
- Oversee subrecipient performance and reporting assessments.
- Conduct compliance evaluations, review financial submissions, and formulate findings and recommendations.
- Execute internal controls assessments, internal audits, policy development, and operational evaluations.
- Engage in consulting tasks, including conducting interviews, reviewing documentation, performing various analyses, and preparing client deliverables such as findings, recommendations, and reports.
- Collaborate with clients to comprehend existing business practices, identify improvement opportunities, define new processes, and create or update policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred; a Master's in Accounting, MBA, or MPA is advantageous.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally with government entities or non-profits; CPA, CIA, CGMA, or CFE certifications are desirable.
- Experience in grant management and internal controls audits is essential.
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), the Yellow Book, and standards from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is preferred.
- Understanding of financial and operational aspects of non-profits and local governments is beneficial.
- Ability to draft reports, prepare findings, and present recommendations effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Capability to analyze problems, think critically, and devise innovative solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills; adept at prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, set goals, and deliver high-quality work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint).
- Willingness to travel as required, approximately 20-30%.
