Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced National Account Executive to promote and sell the City of Minneapolis as a premier destination for conventions and meetings. The successful candidate will achieve individual room night goals to positively impact hotel and Minneapolis Convention Center occupancies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and sell the City of Minneapolis as a premier destination for conventions and meetings
  • Achieve annual definite room night goals and other job-related objectives
  • Actively prospect to develop business and generate new leads
  • Maintain communication on account activity through tasks, leads, updates, cancellations, definites, and site tours
  • Manage progress of tentative accounts
  • Coordinate all aspects of bid proposals
  • Organize and conduct client site inspections and FAM tours as required
  • Update and effectively utilize all databases provided
  • Travel to attend business-related trade shows, sales missions, sales calls, training, meetings, and presentations
Requirements
  • Five years minimum of hospitality industry sales experience
  • Previous experience selling to the East Coast market a plus
  • Four-year degree from an academic institution, in business or hospitality preferred
  • Strong analytical skills to determine quality of business and best-suited business opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills - written, oral, listening, and grammatical
  • Ability to operate computer, fax, e-mail system, and general office equipment
