Position Summary: We are seeking a Project Engineer to contribute to our Michigan offices. This role involves facilitating the design and engineering of structural systems for buildings and facilities, guiding projects from initial phases through to construction completion under the mentorship of senior technical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make informed design decisions based on client specifications and project needs, including load requirements and regulatory codes.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles.
  • Supervise junior engineers and drafters in the creation of structural construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
  • Enhance the technical skills of junior staff, fostering their professional growth.
  • Conduct structural calculations using appropriate system concepts.
  • Review requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and other construction-related documents.
  • Manage multiple moderate-sized projects or segments of larger projects with minimal oversight.
  • Engage in developing client proposals, including scope, budgets, and timelines.
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout project development and execution.
  • Participate in client and design team meetings, as well as plan review processes.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Familiarity with building codes and AISC Design Manual.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, RISA, RAM, Revit, Excel, MathCAD, and SAP2000.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Michigan Structural Engineer (SE) license.
  • Master's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program.
