Role Summary: As a Project Engineer, you will facilitate the design and engineering of structural systems for buildings and facilities, guiding projects from the initial phases through to construction completion with minimal oversight from senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make informed design decisions based on client needs and project specifications, including load requirements and regulatory codes.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles.
  • Supervise junior engineers and drafters in the preparation of structural construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
  • Enhance the technical skills of junior staff, fostering their professional growth.
  • Conduct structural calculations using appropriate methodologies.
  • Review Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and other construction-related documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects of moderate complexity with limited supervision.
  • Contribute to client proposals by preparing project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout project development and execution.
  • Engage in meetings with clients and design teams, participating in plan reviews and approvals.
  • Support business development initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Familiarity with building codes and the AISC Design Manual.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, RISA, RAM, Revit, Excel, MathCAD, and SAP2000.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Michigan Structural Engineer (SE) license.
  • Master's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program.
