Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Membership Services Representative to join our team at the YMCA of Orange County. As a key member of our membership services team, you will be responsible for generating new membership prospects, converting program members, and providing exceptional customer service to our members and prospective members.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews and facility tours with prospective members to promote membership growth and retention.
  • Engage members and manage and monitor recruitment and retention tracking and reporting.
  • Identify, track, and follow up consistently with prospective members via branch promotions, software reports, internal/external messaging, etc.
  • Generate new prospective members through collaboration with Program Director and marketing department.
  • Handle all new/follow-up phone calls regarding facility membership promptly and in a professional courteous manner.
  • Perform member relations duties including handling complaints and inquiries, processing new memberships and monthly fee payments.
  • Follow check-in and service procedures.
  • Follow cash management and receipting procedures.
  • Handle telephone reception.
  • Handle enrollments and payments.
  • Perform computer data entry and retrieval (input registrations, update rosters).
  • Maintain the Service Desk in a neat, clean, and well-organized fashion.
  • Stock work areas with forms and stationary supplies.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and restock towels at Branches where applicable.
  • Be proactive with information and knowledge of all program information and changes.
  • Keep the front lobby area clean and tidy light custodial duties.
  • Follow and enforce safety standards and other policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position:

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years experience in sales, marketing, customer service or related field preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications required.
  • Knowledge of customer service, excellent communication skills, and PC ability required.
  • YMCA membership or operations experience preferred.
