About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Specialist in Student Business Services at California State University, Fullerton. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional customer service and support to students, parents, and university departments regarding California State University (CSU) Fullerton policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide information, advice, and counsel on federal, state, and institutional student policies and procedures.
  • Research, investigate, analyze, and follow up with student questions while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) privacy guidelines.
  • Represent Student Business Services by effectively communicating with diverse groups, including students, faculty, staff, and the general public, to provide courteous, prompt, and excellent customer service.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, focusing on problem-solving and multitasking, with strong attention to detail and flexibility.
  • Assist in monitoring and creating content for departmental social media platforms to aid with customer service.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience.
  • Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures, as well as the ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using PeopleSoft Student Financials functionality in a university environment.
  • Working knowledge of Federal/CSU rules and policies.
  • Experience providing customer service in a Higher Educational environment.
