Position Overview:

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a contract opportunity that involves working on critical defense systems.


Key Responsibilities:

The C2BMC National Team is dedicated to providing innovative technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Contract. This role involves integrating various sensors and weapon systems to enhance the capabilities of the Ballistic Missile Defense System.

The candidate will contribute to the Cyber and Platform (CAP) Information Technology team, assisting senior system administrators and government network experts in managing and maintaining network components that support vital operational networks.


Essential Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team of motivated network engineers.
  • Familiarity with network communication products, including routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, and data encryption technologies.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is mandatory.

Technical Expertise:

Candidates should possess knowledge in network architecture, engineering, design, implementation, and testing. A solid understanding of network communication protocols and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) is required, along with IP network troubleshooting skills. Experience with network testing methodologies using routers, switches, and firewalls is essential. Familiarity with TCP/IP behavior, network communications, and traffic analysis is also necessary. Candidates should be considered experienced but still eager to learn. Recent graduates with relevant degrees and clearances will also be considered.

All candidates must meet the minimum requirements of DOD 8570 IAT II certification, holding any of the following certifications: Security +, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP.


Preferred Qualifications:

While not mandatory, the following experiences are advantageous:

  • Prior knowledge of C2BMC networks or the organization.
  • Experience with protocol analyzers/sniffers (e.g., Wireshark).
  • Familiarity with Network Management Systems (HP Network Node Manager, Solarwinds) or NAS/SAN technologies (NetApp, Gigastore).
  • Certifications from industry vendors such as Juniper or Cisco.

Educational Background:

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry is required, along with typically 5 or more years of experience in an engineering role. Alternatively, a Master's degree with 3 or more years of experience or a PhD with relevant experience will be considered.


Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with first shift hours from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, following a 4/10 work schedule.
