Job Summary

ASRC Federal is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. As a key member of our Ground Based Radar Maintenance and Sustainment Service (GMASS) program, you will be responsible for performing system modeling, requirements analysis, and system engineering documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Modeling: Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques to define system interfaces, requirements, and behaviors.
  • Requirements Analysis: Support requirements analysis and functional allocation to hardware, software, operator, and other segments and components of the system(s) within the models.
  • System Engineering Documentation: Review and create system engineering documentation, collaborating with radar subject matter experts to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent, and complete.
  • Peer Reviews: Participate in engineering peer reviews as a document originator or reviewer to ensure technical quality and engineering rigor.
  • Cybersecurity and Supportability: Play an active role in providing analysis and oversight to the implementation of cybersecurity, supportability, and new capability updates to the various objectives in the Defense Organization (DO).
  • Customer Interface: Directly interface and engage in communications with the Customer in support of scope and requirements definition.
  • System Requirements Reviews: Support system requirements reviews and create and/or update requirement specifications and technical documentation to meet contractual delivery of Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) and Data Accession Lists (DALs).
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with nine (9) years of systems engineering experience; or seven (7) years' experience with a Master's degree; or four (4) years with PhD.
  • Clearance: Interim DoD Secret clearance or higher.
  • Systems Engineering Lifecycle: Familiarity with the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills.
  • Requirements Management Tools: Experience in using a requirements management tool, such as DOORS, Jira, and Confluence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Writing: Technical writing skills for generating analysis and reports.
  • Ground-Based Radars: Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) Precision Acquisition Vehicle Entry (PAVE) Phased Array Warning System (PAWS) (BPP) or other ground-based radars such as the Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS).
  • Discrepancy Management: Familiarity or experience in using a discrepancy management tool, such as Jira.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity or experience with Agile software development methodologies, i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.
