Chipton-Ross is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a contract opportunity. This role requires a dedicated professional to contribute to the C2BMC National Team, which provides technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Contract.
Key Responsibilities:
The C2BMC serves as the integrating component for the Ballistic Missile Defense System, connecting various sensors and weapon systems. The engineer will:
- Collaborate within an integrated team to develop and maintain the physical, functional, and technical requirements necessary for the evolving MDS Command & Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system.
- Utilize mission analysis skills to create use cases, sequence diagrams, and SysML modeling in support of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Apply Agile methodologies, with a focus on Epic and Feature definition.
- Generate system and element-level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of desired capabilities.
- Engage in logical architecture modeling and interface definition, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and security accreditation.
- Develop use cases and prepare systems engineering artifacts, including the definition of Epics and Features for program Cross-Functional Product Teams.
- Assist in the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM), architectural documentation, and system engineering estimates.
- Provide mentorship to junior systems engineering team members in use case development.
- Review technical products and act as a technical liaison to MDA counterparts as needed.
Work Environment:
This position operates under the guidance of various technical leads and product owners, requiring effective communication with team members, management, and government clients to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience in requirements elicitation, derivation, and decomposition for subsystems and components.
- Proficiency in maintaining system and component baselines within a requirements management system.
- Ability to define relationships between internal and external components.
- Strong communication skills for conveying system-level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse audience.
- Experience with Space Domain and Missile Defense Systems is highly valued.
- Flexibility to support various tasks on short notice is essential.
- Regular and predictable attendance is mandatory.
Educational Background:
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, with at least 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 7 years of experience; or a PhD with 4 years of experience.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a first shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, following a 4/10 work schedule.
Additional Information:
Candidates will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to access classified government information.
