Position Overview:

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a contract opportunity. This role is focused on providing innovative technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) through the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Contract.


Key Responsibilities:

The C2BMC National Team plays a critical role in integrating various sensors and weapon systems to enhance the Ballistic Missile Defense System. The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate within an integrated team to develop and maintain the necessary physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines.
  • Conduct mission analysis, developing use cases, sequence diagrams, and SysML modeling to support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Utilize Agile methodologies for defining Epics and Features, contributing to the overall project management.
  • Generate comprehensive system and element-level specifications to document and control the achievement of desired capabilities.
  • Engage in logical architecture modeling and interface definition, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and security accreditation.
  • Assist in the development and review of critical engineering documents, including interface documents and system requirements.
  • Mentor junior systems engineering team members, enhancing their skills in use case development.
  • Act as a technical liaison to MDA counterparts, ensuring clarity and precision in technical communications.

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Experience in requirements elicitation and decomposition for subsystems and components.
  • Proficiency in maintaining system and component baselines within a requirements management system.
  • Ability to articulate system-level use cases and their relationships to a diverse audience.
  • Experience with Space Domain and Missile Defense Systems is highly advantageous.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying tasks as needed.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.

Educational Background:

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, along with relevant experience:

  • 9 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7 or more years of experience with a Master’s degree.
  • 4 or more years of experience with a PhD.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a first shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, operating on a 4/10 workweek.
