Position Overview:

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a contract opportunity. This role requires a strong presence on-site to ensure effective collaboration and communication.


Key Responsibilities:

The C2BMC National Team is dedicated to delivering technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Contract. The C2BMC serves as the central integrating component for the Ballistic Missile Defense System, connecting various sensors and weapon systems.

This system is crucial for integrating and synchronizing missile defense systems and operations, providing a comprehensive defense against a wide range of threats throughout all flight phases.

The selected candidate will join the Cyber and Platform (CAP) Information Technology team, supporting senior system administrators and government network experts in managing and maintaining network components that support associated networks.


Essential Qualifications:
  • Proficient communication skills with strong writing and presentation capabilities, particularly using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team of motivated network engineers.
  • Familiarity with network communication products, including routers, switches, firewalls, Domain Name Servers (DNS), and data encryption technologies.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is mandatory.

Technical Expertise:

Understanding of network architecture, engineering, design, implementation, and testing is essential. Knowledge of network communication protocols and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) is required, along with IP network troubleshooting skills. Basic familiarity with network testing methodologies using routers, switches, and firewalls is expected. Candidates should have a solid understanding of TCP/IP behavior, network communications, routing protocols, and experience in network traffic analysis and troubleshooting. Candidates with a recent degree and appropriate clearance will also be considered.

It is necessary for candidates to meet the minimum requirements of DOD 8570 IAT II certification, holding any of the following certifications: Security +, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP.


Preferred Qualifications:

While not mandatory, the following experiences are advantageous:

  • Prior knowledge of C2BMC networks or organization.
  • Experience with protocol analyzers/sniffers (e.g., Wireshark).
  • Familiarity with Network Management Systems (HP Network Node Manager, Solarwinds) or NAS/SAN technologies (NetApp, Gigastore).
  • Certifications from industry vendors such as Juniper or Cisco.

Educational Background:

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry is required, along with typically 5 or more years of experience in an engineering role. Alternatively, a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years of experience or a PhD with relevant experience will be considered.


Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with first shift hours from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, following a 4/10 work schedule.
