Position Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Compensation: $220,000 - $230,000

Overview

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Systems Engineer. This pivotal role involves leading the design, development, and integration of sophisticated computer systems, software, and networks. Your extensive knowledge in systems engineering will be essential as you work closely with stakeholders to identify precise requirements, develop strategic plans, and ensure the successful execution of projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and security operations, including the management of software and hardware installations.
  • Exhibit mastery in IT systems security, grounded in best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Show familiarity with various technical domains such as programming, database management, virtualization, and LINUX.
  • Apply IT service management methodologies with a strong grasp of ITIL frameworks.
  • Experience in CMMI Level 3 (or higher) environments is preferred.
  • Engage with stakeholders to thoroughly understand system requirements and align them with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the entire system development lifecycle, including the design and deployment of computer systems, software, and networks.
  • Conduct seamless systems integration and rigorous testing to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage the transition of systems into operational deployment.
  • Develop and implement detailed plans covering system specifications and technical requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive programmatic and technical documentation.
  • Keep meticulous records of system configurations for effective management.
  • Utilize your expertise to deliver innovative systems engineering solutions.
  • Provide analytical support and expert evaluations to enhance operational capabilities.
  • Offer strategic engineering advice and integrate new technologies into existing programs.
  • Support project management efforts by providing insights into cost, performance, and risk.
  • Evaluate technologies for their readiness and suitability for integration into projects.
  • Deliver presentations to senior leadership to aid in project management planning.
  • Ensure timely support for special capability initiatives.
  • Lead research and development efforts to explore new technical capabilities.
  • Develop phased project plans to facilitate program execution.
  • Collaborate with various government agencies to assess the effectiveness of integrated capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with fifteen (15) years of related experience; a master's degree with thirteen (13) years of experience; or a PhD or JD with ten (10) years of experience.

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense (DoD) active security clearance is required.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods and requires mobility to complete daily tasks efficiently, including lifting up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
