Role Summary

The Director of Business Development will spearhead efforts to enhance engagement with major corporate partners while also identifying and securing new partnerships. This role demands a proactive approach, exceptional relationship management skills, and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively, ensuring accountability for program deliverables.

In collaboration with the Executive Director, the individual will play a crucial role in expanding internship opportunities and nurturing relationships with both existing and prospective corporate partners.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Establish and strengthen connections with senior executives and decision-makers at current and potential corporate partners, gaining insights into their talent strategies and objectives for diverse talent acquisition.
  2. Utilize advocates from existing partnerships and the Genesys Works Chicago Board to network and foster relationships with corporate leaders, leading to new partnership opportunities.
  3. Present tailored solutions to stakeholders and prospective partners to facilitate the sales process.

Specific Duties

  • Develop comprehensive account strategies, conduct research on potential partners, and secure introductions to close new business, targeting significant revenue from high school and post-graduate internships.
  • Collaborate closely with the Program Team to understand evolving talent strategies and identify additional internship opportunities through existing networks.
  • Conduct market research to identify and evaluate new corporate partnership prospects.
  • Negotiate and finalize master service agreements, ensuring all onboarding processes are completed efficiently.
  • Manage relationships with new corporate partners during the initial engagement period, ensuring smooth transitions to account managers post-renewal.
  • Work with the Executive Director to create and implement strategies aimed at increasing internship placements and improving sales cycle efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the Chief of Staff and Business Operations Specialist to maintain accurate reporting of key performance indicators related to corporate partnerships.
  • Gather and verify internship details, collaborating with the National Program and Operations team to fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of marketing materials to promote corporate partnerships and drive renewals.
  • Ensure timely payments from corporate partners and address any workplace issues that may arise.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or business development with a proven track record in account growth.
  • Experience in selling workforce solutions or management services to corporate clients.
  • Demonstrated success in closing high-value opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Proven ability to track and achieve key performance indicators.
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Experience presenting to executive-level audiences.
  • Proficient in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Preferred experience in client development and transferable skills.
