Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide fundamental technical assistance to computer users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in person or remotely.
  • Maintain and repair equipment by troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing components, adjusting settings, and testing within the company's network to ensure optimal operation.
  • Configure and install computer and peripheral equipment, including desktop and laptop computers, printers, and basic telecommunications devices, as well as client software.
  • Utilize standard test equipment, tools, supplies, and materials for desktop support tasks.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to resolve procedural or technical challenges.
  • Offer technical support to colleagues in using client computer systems, assisting them in understanding the basic operations of computers and peripherals.
  • Adhere to work schedules and attendance policies as per company standards.
  • Stay informed about technology trends by reading industry publications and attending relevant trade shows.
Compensation for this position is based on the candidate's experience.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience
  • Completion of a two-year technical program or two years of college/university credits in computer systems/technology.
  • Strong understanding of current computing practices, standards, and equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft client tools (including but not limited to Office, Outlook, and Skype), as well as general networking and desktop support products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong technical writing abilities.
  • Ability to manage daily tasks with a degree of independence.
  • Good organizational skills are essential.
  • One to two years of experience in desktop support across various operating systems, networking, telecommunications, and client software support.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive attitude when facing challenges during troubleshooting.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English for safety and productivity purposes.
