Senior Financial Analyst

Job Description Summary


The Senior Financial Analyst is accountable for comprehensive financial reporting at the property level for a designated portfolio within Client Accounting.

The Senior Financial Analyst will utilize established accounting standards to consistently deliver a high-quality and precise work product, requiring minimal oversight.


This role encompasses three tiers, which can be achieved based on experience, performance, and increasing complexity at each subsequent level.

Key Responsibilities:


Oversee the assigned portfolio in partnership with accounting leadership, property management, and clients to ensure that transactions are recorded and reports are generated in alignment with the property management agreement, client specifications, company policies, and relevant accounting standards.


Manage a high-volume workload to accurately record financial activities, initiate disbursements, address issues, and compile reporting packages promptly.

Supervise trust and partnership bank accounts, along with managing cash flow, funding requests, distributions, and account transfers.


Evaluate property-level activities, financial statements, and trends to pinpoint and rectify discrepancies, uncover fraud, and guarantee accurate representation of the property's operational and financial status.

Exercise independent judgment regarding the timing, recognition, and classification of transactions in accordance with GAAP.

Provide guidance and support to property-level team members within the assigned portfolio.

Investigate, analyze, and effectively communicate accounting challenges and escalate as necessary.

Maintain organized records and supporting documentation required to validate business transactions.


Assist with internal and external audits by supplying relevant documentation and information as requested by the Audit Team, and review third-party audit findings for accuracy and reasonableness.


Adhere to policies, internal controls, and ethical standards established by the department and company, and implement quality measures across all areas of responsibility to uphold the company's mission and values.

Support internal projects, perform duties of other accountants (in their absence), or undertake other related responsibilities as assigned.

Education/Experience/Training:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

Work Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in accounting or internships is preferred.

Industry-related experience is preferred.

Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment is preferred.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
Familiarity with Yardi accounting software is preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and 10-key computer keyboard skills.
