The CSUDH Foundation is in search of a seasoned and mature professional to join the Executive Leadership Team, providing experienced and compassionate leadership to elevate the organization to new heights.
Building on over four decades of success in serving low-income families and addressing social inequities, the Chief Programs Officer will oversee the delivery and execution of a comprehensive range of programs and services that align with the agency's mission and vision.
The CPO will continuously foster innovation and enhancements through actionable processes and tools that promote operational efficiency and effectiveness.As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CPO will contribute to establishing corporate objectives and assist in developing the organization's infrastructure while actively collaborating to achieve outstanding organizational performance.
A successful CPO will coordinate resource management (optimizing skills, reallocating staff, etc.), oversee overall utilization, and manage the supply and demand of resources for functional area services.
The CPO holds overall responsibility for multiple program contract compliance, effectiveness, client services, cost control, and ongoing quality review while upholding the agency's quality commitments.
The CPO ensures that all program activities operate efficiently, consistently, and ethically within the mission and values of the CSUDH Foundation, adhering to relevant federal and state guidelines.
The CPO will manage a significant portfolio of programs and related services, continually innovating with an entrepreneurial mindset to address the evolving needs of children and families in our communities.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the CPO will enhance the strategic vision and leadership of the agency; set corporate objectives that will strengthen the organization's infrastructure; develop program solutions that improve the lives of children and families; assess program effectiveness; cultivate relationships that enhance collaborative partnerships; promote philanthropic engagement; and provide mentoring, guidance, supervision, and professional development to ensure high-performing team dynamics.
Provide strategic direction, lead, and support the growth of all organizational programs to serve the community and maintain the esteemed reputation of the CSUDH Foundation as a key contributor alongside the Department of Education and other funders.
Oversee the management of all program-related projects to ensure successful delivery (on time, within budget, meeting established success criteria) by setting goals and accountabilities; developing project plans; allocating resources; identifying potential issues/risks; and creating contingency plans.
Represent the organization to governmental, corporate, and other entities, including advocacy, reviewing and interpreting state and federal policies, ensuring that programmatic contract requirements are met, and maintaining positive relations with funders.
Communicate and educate employees on agency culture and lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to integrity, honesty, and adherence to the highest ethical standards.
Advise and inform the Executive Leadership Team on the implications of short- and long-term decisions, strategies, and large-scale initiatives that will yield significant results.
Build value-based relationships with peers and others to exchange feedback for the purpose of achieving work objectives, collaboratively assessing needs, and creating action plans that identify and resolve challenges.
Qualifications, Skills, Education, and Experience
BA/BS Degree in Business, Education, Public Administration, Child Development, Organizational Development, or equivalent. Extensive executive-level leadership experience is required. An advanced degree, MBA, or Project Management certification is preferred.
5 to 7 years in a strategic leadership role within a corporate or non-profit agency. Experience managing seasoned professionals with high levels of expertise is essential. Requires experience in providing creative leadership and excellent mentoring, coaching, and training skills.
Skilled in reading, interpreting, and analyzing complex state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals from diverse backgrounds and relate to various groups, including low-income families.
Knowledge of organizational and management practices related to the evaluation of services, policies, and operational needs.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, utilizing tact, intellect, patience, and courtesy.
Ability to coordinate and manage projects, work independently, and follow through to completion.
