Key Responsibilities:

The JCC Association is in search of a dynamic and forward-thinking leader to guide an organization with a profound legacy of serving the Jewish community and the wider population in Los Angeles. The new Chief Executive Officer will step into this pivotal role at a time filled with opportunities, significantly influencing the development, execution, and realization of the organization’s strategic vision while ensuring its financial health and operational effectiveness.

This leader will be instrumental in steering the organization towards making essential decisions that will shape its future, providing strategic direction on how to best meet the needs of the community in an ever-changing environment.

The incoming CEO will oversee a variety of programs vital to both the Jewish and broader communities in Los Angeles, tasked with cultivating the necessary philanthropic and administrative support to ensure the success of current and future initiatives. This influential figure will act as the primary leader, inspiring and motivating a dedicated team and Board members eager to advance the organization into its promising future. It is crucial that this leader showcases exceptional partnership-building and operational capabilities, empowers staff, and embodies unwavering integrity.

As the head of the JCC Association, the Chief Executive Officer will have a significant opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals across diverse backgrounds in Los Angeles.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to formulate a forward-thinking vision and strategy that addresses community needs.
  • Work alongside the Board and fundraising team to set clear financial objectives aligned with the strategic vision, then enhance fundraising efforts.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with external stakeholders, including community organizations and partners, while identifying new collaborative opportunities.
  • Promote teamwork and efficiency, enhancing organizational capacity both within the JCC Association and with other entities to fulfill community needs and achieve shared objectives.
  • Oversee a passionate team across a diverse range of services and programs designed to engage and serve the community effectively.
  • Establish robust infrastructure, communication channels, processes, and operational protocols to ensure the organization is well-positioned to achieve its strategic goals.
  • Engage with Board members to leverage their expertise, networks, and resources in support of the organization’s mission while ensuring excellence in program delivery.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the JCC Association to the community, partners, and donors, fostering collaboration across programs and departments.
  • Ensure the financial stability and integrity of the organization through responsible budgeting, planning, and stewardship.
  • Develop a strong operational framework to support the organization’s growth and strategic objectives.
Strategic Vision & Leadership:
  • Experience in crafting innovative visions and strategies that propel organizations forward and create significant impact; ability to foresee future trends and guide others in adapting to changes.
  • Proven operational management skills with a successful track record of leading organizations of similar scope and size, demonstrating strong leadership and people management abilities.
  • Ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including Board members, donors, staff, and community partners, with a deep understanding of the cultural and religious diversity within Los Angeles.
  • Expertise in fundraising with a history of developing revenue streams from various sources, demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit in this area.
  • Innovative mindset with a knack for applying creative solutions to challenges.
  • Commitment to the mission of the JCC Association and a personal dedication to Jewish life and community engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and networks across various stakeholder groups, with the courage to make and communicate difficult decisions when necessary.
