Position Overview:

This role is accountable for maintaining the standards of care, practice, and quality that govern nursing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Chief Nursing Officer, you will:

  • Lead the nursing department to ensure high-quality patient care across various clinical practice areas.
  • Work closely with the Hospital Executive and the Chief Nursing Executive to align departmental goals with organizational objectives.
  • Direct operations and patient care across multiple units, including Critical Care, Emergency Services, Perioperative, and more.
  • Manage daily nursing operations to guarantee safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
  • Plan, organize, and evaluate nursing services, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for staff and patients to enhance care quality.
  • Provide leadership in budgeting and financial management for nursing operations.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on strategic planning and operational management.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and represent nursing interests on various committees.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A master's degree in nursing administration, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • A valid California Registered Nurse License.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience in a large healthcare system, including two years in a supervisory role.

Knowledge and Skills:
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of:

  • Healthcare organization and administration principles.
  • Financial planning and budgeting processes.
  • Current trends in nursing services and patient care.

Abilities:
The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Effectively manage nursing activities in a large healthcare setting.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues through constructive policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse populations and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
