Position Overview:
The Chief Veterinary Officer serves as the principal leader of the facility, collaborating closely with the Hospital Manager to expand and oversee operations. This role is integral to a start-up venture planning to establish multiple locations in key markets. It presents a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role and potentially acquire ownership equity within the organization. The company seeks to partner with leading veterinarians in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and professional development of veterinary staff
  • Provide leadership and actively practice as a veterinarian
  • Participate in training initiatives and offer constructive feedback for new facility openings
  • Work in conjunction with Field Leadership on the recruitment of the Hospital Manager
  • Assist the Hospital Manager in staff recruitment, hiring, and training processes
  • Engage in Company Leadership training and initiatives
  • Promote a culture of exceptional client service
  • Formulate and implement strategic plans for the facility
  • Manage operational expenses and drive growth
  • Establish and uphold standards of veterinary care
Qualifications:
  • At least 6 years of experience in veterinary practice
  • A minimum of 3 years in a management role
  • Possession of a valid veterinary license in California
  • Capability to mentor and train junior veterinarians
  • Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment
