Overview of the Position

As a pivotal member of the Athleta Brand Marketing team, the Senior Brand Marketing Manager collaborates closely with the Director of Brand Marketing to spearhead the comprehensive seasonal marketing strategy, planning, and execution. This role is essential in ensuring that significant brand and product concepts are effectively communicated across all key brand touchpoints. Furthermore, this position will focus on the marketing strategy for the Athleta Girl category, a vital and rapidly expanding segment of the business. The primary objective is to enhance brand visibility, attract new customers, increase traffic and conversion rates, and strengthen the emotional connection consumers have with both Athleta Girl and the overall brand.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Director of Brand Marketing to lead the comprehensive seasonal marketing strategy, ensuring that Athleta and Athleta Girl concepts are presented in a compelling, distinctive, and emotionally resonant manner across brand touchpoints. Create seasonal campaign briefs and work alongside the creative team to produce marketing materials that align with brand identity, fulfill messaging goals, and create significant impact. Oversee all seasonal product marketing and messaging to guarantee that marketing strategies effectively drive business outcomes. Work in partnership with Brand Marketing colleagues in the Women's division to establish seasonal brand, product, and cultural integration points between the Women's and Girls' segments. Conduct seasonal evaluations and competitive analyses to refine marketing strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously assess the effectiveness (ROI) of brand marketing initiatives and campaigns. Partner with the customer insights team to shape seasonal marketing strategies. Represent marketing at all relevant Athleta Girl pipeline milestone meetings. Present seasonal marketing strategies and plans to senior leadership, including the CMO, to secure buy-in and approvals. Assist the Director of Brand Marketing in guiding brand marketing strategies for key growth initiatives to achieve business objectives and maintain relevance.

Qualifications

6-8 years of experience in brand marketing strategy and planning within the fashion/apparel sector, consumer brands, or marketing agencies. Familiarity with the Sports/Fitness/Outdoor industry; athletic experience or interest is advantageous. Proven experience in marketing to Mom and Gen Z demographics, with a solid grasp of consumer insights and engagement strategies. Comprehensive experience in omni-channel brand marketing, with a deep understanding of retail, print, and digital marketing. Demonstrated success in developing and executing annual and seasonal brand marketing strategies that yield strong business results. Ability to convert product, trend, and merchandising information into compelling marketable messages. Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a talent for building effective partnerships across diverse teams. Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable with leadership capabilities. Proficient in presenting and gaining support from senior leadership team members. Passionate about creative development and adept at briefing and collaborating with creative teams. Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to manage complex projects. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and navigating ambiguity. Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands based on the evolving needs of the business.
