Head of Employee Training Programs

Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Administrator and in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, the Director of Staff Development is accountable for the planning, execution, oversight, and assessment of educational initiatives for all personnel, as well as quality assurance and enhancement within the facility.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the practicing state.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory nursing role within a long-term care environment.
- Completion of a 24-hour continuing education course focused on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing educational programs.
- Demonstrated mental and physical fitness.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Key Responsibilities:
Orientation:
- Facilitates comprehensive theoretical and practical orientation for all new hires.
- Ensures all orientation documentation aligns with facility policies and is maintained in individual employee files.
- Documents all required health screenings and assessments within specified timeframes.
- Reviews and reinforces the Blood Borne Pathogen Policy and Procedure.
Training:
- Develops and implements a continuous in-service training program for all staff.
- Provides ongoing educational reinforcement to meet annual training requirements for nursing assistants.
- Coordinates mandatory annual training sessions for all employees, adhering to state and federal regulations.
- Creates and distributes a yearly training calendar to relevant stakeholders.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintains organized records of all in-service training for employees.
- Collaborates with the Administrator and Director of Nursing to ensure compliance with nursing policies and procedures.
- Monitors and supports nursing staff in adhering to established clinical and theoretical practices.
- Conducts regular rounds to ensure residents receive appropriate care.
Consumer Service:
- Maintains a professional demeanor in all interactions with consumers.
- Adheres to company standards for addressing consumer concerns and safeguarding resident rights.
