**Job Summary**

Blue Heron Programs is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Employment Counselor/Direct Support Professional to join our team. As an Employment Counselor, you will work with adults with developmental disabilities to build the skills necessary to gain and maintain competitive integrated employment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Meet daily with 2 participants to develop and implement personalized plans to achieve their employment goals.
  • Plan and lead activities that support the development of new skills and new behaviors related to participants' goals.
  • Support participants through job readiness and soft skills curriculum, including job search skills, resume building, and interview preparation.
  • Provide transportation for participants to and from program activities, ensuring safe and reliable transportation.
  • Plan weekly schedules with participants focused around their goals, including job training, education, and social activities.
  • Attend daily virtual staff meetings and bi-weekly 1:1's with your manager to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Lead in-person and virtual activities to support social connections between participants, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
  • Once participants secure a job, provide support at their worksites to ensure success in their job duties, including on-the-job training and coaching.
  • Other duties as needed to support the success of participants and the program as a whole.

**Requirements:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A reliable vehicle (4-door, minimum 4 seater) with a clean driving record.
  • A clean background check.
  • Working computer and high-speed internet capable of connecting to Zoom.
  • CPR/FA certification (within 30 days of being hired; we reimburse this cost).
