Biomedical Sales Specialist
Location: Baltimore, MD Area/Washington DC Area/Gaithersburg, MD

Your Responsibilities:

Accountable for the sales of instruments, services, reagents, and other consumables within a designated territory, leveraging deep market insights, technical expertise, and effective sales techniques.

Key Duties:

  • Achieve or surpass company sales targets in the assigned territory for specific products through comprehensive market knowledge and sales acumen.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to formulate and implement a strategic growth plan for the territory.
  • Identify potential sales opportunities and devise a plan to convert leads into sales utilizing available resources.
  • Travel within the assigned territory to engage with current and prospective clients, enhancing account knowledge, soliciting orders, conducting product demonstrations, attending industry events, and addressing troubleshooting needs.
  • Establish and nurture robust customer relationships to foster ongoing and future business with Miltenyi Biotec Inc.
  • Investigate, resolve, and follow up on any customer inquiries, issues, or complaints promptly.
  • Regularly utilize and adhere to company policies regarding electronic account management systems (CRM), documenting customer interactions, appointment schedules, and tracking opportunities.
  • Timely and accurately complete required reports on business transactions and expenses as mandated by management.
  • Engage in strategic market analysis with colleagues and management to continually identify opportunities for maximizing territory potential.
  • Provide management with competitive and market trend insights to aid in recognizing new product opportunities and special marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively in shared accounts to enhance overall company sales.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding Miltenyi Biotec's customers and proprietary technologies.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-75% of the time.
  • Participate in additional projects and assignments as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences from an accredited institution is required; a Master's degree or PhD is preferred. A minimum of two to four years of sales and/or research experience in the life sciences sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A background in Immunology and/or Molecular Biology is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various sales concepts, practices, and procedures is essential.
  • A valid driver's license, proof of insurance/insurability, and the ability to obtain necessary clearance for restricted accounts are required.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The employee is regularly required to walk, use hands for handling or feeling, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally. The role may involve standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Occasionally, the employee may need to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail is essential. Routine travel by car and plane is expected.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. This role is performed in various facilities, requiring a home office environment that is temperature controlled. Due to travel requirements, exposure to natural elements may occur. The employee may handle used research/clinical equipment, necessitating strict adherence to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs), including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). All employees will receive appropriate training before engaging in tasks requiring PPE or SOP compliance.
