Job Overview

Position Title: Litigation Paralegal

Reporting To: Litigation Support Coordinator

Position Summary: The Litigation Paralegal plays a crucial role in assisting the Litigation Support Coordinator, collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, and various members of the practice support team to enhance the effectiveness of litigation support technologies and applications. This role requires a proactive approach to project management, with responsibilities including technical assistance in database management, image handling, and database architecture for a suite of litigation/practice system tools, particularly Relativity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the Litigation Support Coordinator and case team members on technical litigation support matters.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality work products to internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Transform and format raw data into client-specific formats.
  • Oversee the management, processing, and loading of data and images into litigation support systems, documenting and addressing any failed processes.
  • Evaluate documents and data for compatibility with litigation systems, recommending vendor intervention when necessary.
  • Apply development skills to automate repetitive tasks for efficiency.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all requests from case teams and Litigation Support Specialists.
  • Accurately compile daily billing time records.
  • Contribute to strategic business planning for future initiatives.
  • Develop strategies and plans aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Capacity to learn and comprehend the application of technology in supporting litigation processes, including discovery, document production, and management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to perform under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptable to changing requirements while preserving database and application integrity.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities, making informed decisions, and resolving issues effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma and/or an associate degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in Litigation Support, with specific experience in Relativity required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 5 pounds occasionally.
  • Work in the office three days a week.
