Job Overview

A prominent national law firm dedicated to advocating for individuals impacted by mesothelioma is seeking a Trial Legal Assistant to contribute to its operations. This position will primarily support trial teams throughout the phases of trial preparation and execution. The firm is looking for dynamic, detail-oriented, and proactive candidates for this on-site role.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing assistance to attorneys at every stage of litigation, from the commencement to the trial.
  • Preparing a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and interrogatories.
  • Overseeing client files and calendars, while delivering updates on case progress.
  • Conducting comprehensive legal research, including understanding court rules and procedures.
  • Collaborating on trial preparations, which involves organizing trial binders, coordinating with experts and opposing counsel, and communicating with court personnel.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, potentially for extended periods during trials.

Preferred Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in asbestos law or within a trial environment as a legal assistant.
