Job Overview

Position Title: Litigation Paralegal

Reports To: Litigation Paralegal

Position Summary: The Litigation Paralegal plays a crucial role in assisting the Litigation Support Coordinator and collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, and other members of the practice support team to enhance the utilization of litigation support technologies and applications. This role requires a proactive approach to project management, focusing on delivering technical assistance in database management, image handling, and system design for a range of litigation support tools, particularly Relativity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engages with the Litigation Support Coordinator and case team members on technical litigation support matters.
  • Ensures the timely and high-quality delivery of work products to internal stakeholders.
  • Transforms and formats raw data into client-specific formats.
  • Oversees the management, processing, and loading of data and images into litigation support systems, while documenting and troubleshooting any failed processes.
  • Evaluates documents and data for compatibility with litigation systems, recommending vendor intervention when necessary.
  • Applies development skills to automate repetitive tasks effectively.
  • Keeps detailed records of all requests from case teams and Litigation Support Specialists.
  • Accurately compiles daily billing time records in a timely manner.
  • Contributes to strategic business planning for future initiatives.
  • Develops strategies and plans aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Proficient in understanding and utilizing technology to support litigation processes, including discovery, document production, management, and coding.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to perform under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities with minimal supervision.

Capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively, making informed decisions and solving problems as they arise.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma and/or an associate degree in a relevant field.

A minimum of one year of experience in Litigation Support, including proficiency with Relativity.

Physical Requirements:

Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds occasionally.
