POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized litigation support specialist to assist our legal team in a fast-paced environment. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including filing legal documents, drafting essential legal paperwork, conducting legal research, and supporting attorneys in case management. The ideal candidate will excel in critical thinking, multitasking, organization, and time management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • File documents electronically with various courts.
  • Draft a range of litigation documents, including demand letters, complaints, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
  • Prepare and file administrative agency charges and responses.
  • Review and organize discovery documents.
  • Manage case files for multiple clients, tracking activities and deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Calculate and track important dates within the firm's file management systems.
  • Conduct legal research as needed.
  • Accurately enter billing data into the firm's system.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.
  • Participate actively in team meetings.
  • Utilize creative and analytical skills to address various challenges.
  • Assist in training new staff as required.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to meet firm needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a litigation support role is required.
  • Essential skills include: common sense, critical thinking, time management, organization, teamwork, and clear communication.
  • Ability to follow directions attentively and respectfully.
  • Desire to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Capability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Professional demeanor that reflects the firm's values.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage time-sensitive documents and requests.
  • Proficiency in technology, including MS Office and case management software.

  • Paralegal certification is preferred; experience in employment law is a plus.
  • Supervisory experience is highly desirable.

WORK HOURS

This position typically requires Monday through Friday availability. Candidates may occasionally need to work additional hours based on firm requirements. The role is hybrid, with a mix of in-office and remote work after an initial onboarding period.
