POSITION SUMMARY:

The Bowery Residents Committee is seeking a dedicated Senior Center Case Manager to provide essential support to our Senior Center, which serves approximately 150 members daily. This role is pivotal in ensuring that seniors receive nutritious meals and engaging activities that enhance their quality of life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the intake process for new members.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of entitlements and community resources.
  • Facilitate linkages and referrals to appropriate services.
  • Accompany clients on field trips and activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case logs.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Translate verbal and written communications as needed.
  • Ensure accurate daily attendance records for all activities and meals.
  • Lead group workshops and recreational activities.
  • Assist with the distribution of meals.
  • Participate in ongoing training as approved by the organization.
  • Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when required.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Program Director.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time position, requiring 35 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: A Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience. Bilingual proficiency in Chinese is essential. CPR certification or willingness to obtain it is required. A willingness to secure a food handler's license is also necessary.

Preferred: Experience working with senior populations and/or Chinese immigrant communities. Familiarity with the NYC Department for the Aging is advantageous.

VACCINATION: Vaccination is preferred but not mandatory.
