Position OverviewThe role involves assisting Independent Distributors (IDs) in managing customer relations, engaging in sales initiatives, expanding their customer network, identifying new market opportunities, and monitoring sales performance. Area Sales Directors will be tasked with formulating effective sales strategies aimed at enhancing sales volume, customer engagement, and brand visibility. This position requires significant interaction with customers and IDs in the field, with a high degree of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities- Manage overall business operations and activities within the designated area; collaborate on budgeting and marketing strategies with Business Units and Marketing.
- Utilize independent judgment and discretion in executing job responsibilities.
- Partner with IDs to promote additional sales and enhance brand recognition.
- Guide IDs in nurturing and developing customer relationships.
- Establish and maintain a schedule for regular visits to key accounts to foster relationships and drive sales growth.
- Serve as a liaison between Flowers and IDs, supporting their sales strategies and efforts.
- Work closely with the Market VP and Distributor Enablement to evaluate market and territory prospects for sales growth.
- Conduct weekly performance reviews with the Market VP to assess sales data and personal development goals.
- Stay informed on consumer trends and adapt sales strategies as necessary.
- Collaborate with IDs to explore opportunities for acquiring new customers.
- Assist IDs with product promotions, displays, and other initiatives to boost sales.
- Monitor market conditions affecting customers.
- Advise IDs on the effectiveness of in-store displays and promotions, and explore innovative partnership opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures, including EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties integral to the role, including compliance with work schedules and attendance policies.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT medical certification.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in management or sales is required. Previous roles as a sales representative, distributor, or in other sales capacities are essential.
Educational RequirementsA Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.
