Position Overview

The role involves assisting Independent Distributors (IDs) in managing customer relations, engaging in sales initiatives, expanding their clientele, identifying new market opportunities, and monitoring sales metrics. In this supportive capacity, Area Sales Directors will devise effective sales strategies to enhance sales performance, customer engagement, and brand visibility. The position requires substantial interaction with customers and IDs to fulfill these responsibilities. Area Sales Directors will operate autonomously with limited oversight. They will analyze relevant sales and marketing data and provide insights and recommendations to the IDs' Market VP to enhance customer relations, boost sales opportunities, and strengthen partnerships with IDs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage overall business operations and activities within the designated area; collaborate on budgeting and market merchandising and advertising with Business Units and Marketing for the assigned region.
  • Utilize discretion and independent judgment in executing job responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with IDs to engage customers and promote additional sales and brand recognition.
  • Guide IDs in nurturing and developing customer relationships.
  • Schedule regular visits to key accounts to foster relationships and drive sales growth.
  • Act as a liaison between Flowers and IDs, supporting their sales strategies and efforts.
  • Work alongside the Market VP and Distributor Enablement to evaluate market and territory opportunities for IDs to enhance sales and expand territories.
  • Conduct weekly reviews with the Market VP to assess sales performance and personal development goals.
  • Stay informed on consumer trends and adjust sales strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with IDs to explore new customer acquisition opportunities.
  • Assist IDs with product promotions, displays, and other initiatives to drive sales.
  • Monitor market conditions relevant to customers.
  • Advise IDs on the effectiveness and frequency of in-store displays and promotions, and explore innovative partnership strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes – Oxley, Safety, etc.).
  • Perform additional duties integral to the position, including compliance with work schedules, attendance policies, and other operational guidelines.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in general management or sales. Previous experience in sales roles, distribution, or similar positions is required.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree (preferably in Sales or Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
