Vaco is a prominent player in the manufacturing sector, seeking a Sales Operations Vice President who embodies true leadership qualities to mentor and develop the sales team while driving revenue growth. This pivotal role reports directly to the company's President.
Role Overview
As the Vice President of Sales Operations, you will lead and manage the sales team to achieve revenue targets and facilitate business growth. Your key responsibilities will include setting performance goals and metrics, fostering robust relationships with major clients, and ensuring the sales team consistently meets or exceeds their quotas. Additionally, you will be instrumental in discovering new business opportunities, expanding our market presence, and providing essential guidance and mentorship to the sales personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy Formulation
- Design and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet organizational objectives and revenue goals.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor actions, and market developments to refine strategies as needed.
- Initiate continuous improvement efforts to optimize sales processes, productivity, and overall performance.
- Leadership and Team Development
- Inspire and manage a high-achieving sales team.
- Provide necessary coaching, mentoring, and training.
- Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness at every stage.
- Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
- Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
- Sales Data Analysis
- Evaluate sales data and market trends to uncover growth opportunities and areas for optimization.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and sales performance metrics, providing regular updates to the Chief Executive.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, procurement, and customer service to ensure alignment and support in achieving sales objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
- BA or MA Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field with over 10 years of sales experience.
- Demonstrated success in sales management, with a proven ability to drive sales growth and meet targets.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and build positive relationships with clients, vendors, and staff.
- Analytical mindset with expertise in evaluating sales data, market trends, and performance metrics to make informed decisions.
- Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach, capable of developing and implementing effective sales strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of sales processes, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
