Payroll Coordinator Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join our team at Brookdale Senior Living. As a Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible for processing payroll data from various sources, including Kronos and manual adjustment forms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly and weekly payroll for non-exempt and exempt staff, including reviewing deductions, verifying totals, and responding to associate questions or problems.
  • Maintain and document changes to payroll data within the HRIS system and/or the Service Central ticketing system.
  • Process weekly and biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including downloading payroll information to outside payroll service providers for pay card and/or direct deposit processing.
  • Review payroll deductions and ensure accuracy of payroll, including inputting additional pay, time-off, and W-4 exemption changes based on submitted paperwork.
  • Answer questions from managers and associates regarding time reporting and payroll procedures, and work closely with the HR Department to refer questions on policy issues relating to payroll.
  • Assist with annual audit processes and other accounting tasks as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED), Associates Degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience processing payroll for a multi-state company preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS/Payroll database systems, such as PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or ADP preferred.
