Key Responsibilities:

As a Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible for the compilation of payroll data from various sources, including timekeeping systems and manual adjustments. Your primary duties will involve processing payroll on a bi-weekly and weekly basis, reviewing deductions, confirming totals, and addressing inquiries from associates. You will also maintain payroll data changes within the HRIS system, manage off-cycle check requests, and perform a variety of payroll-related functions.

  • Administers payroll for both hourly and salaried staff
  • Ensures accuracy of payroll deductions
  • Handles time-off requests, additional pay, and W-4 exemption modifications
  • Assists with annual audits and related accounting tasks
  • May provide guidance and training to junior payroll staff

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate Degree in Accounting or Business is preferred. Experience in processing payroll for a multi-state organization is advantageous, along with familiarity with HRIS/Payroll systems such as PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or ADP.

Certifications and Other Requirements: FPC or CPP certification is beneficial but not required.

Management and Decision Making: Decisions are made based on established guidelines with limited independent judgment. Guidance from supervisors is sought for complex problem-solving.

Knowledge and Skills: Basic skills, ability to follow directives, strong communication abilities, attention to detail, and knowledge of payroll regulations are essential.

  • Handling objects, reaching, talking, and listening
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Requires interaction with others and may involve occasional weekend or evening work
