The Role

Moderna is seeking a Regional Marketing Lead to adapt, translate, and execute global franchise strategies across the Emerging Markets Region. This role involves developing regional market, product, and brand strategies in collaboration with our local teams.

As a strategic liaison in Marketing, you will bridge the Global and Local Teams, ensuring seamless communication, alignment, and collaboration. You will champion our Market Requirements and provide regional input to support early-stage programs with our Global Team. Our goal is to innovate mRNA solutions to transform future medicine and address significant medical needs.

With extensive expertise in the healthcare environment, pricing, and reimbursement systems in the Emerging Markets region, you will develop and execute brand strategies that foster market leadership. This includes leading strategies to build markets, drive adoption, and increase market share for Moderna's innovative products.

Additionally, you will work with markets and partners to pilot innovative strategies, expanding non-traditional market segments and channels through your strong knowledge of the biopharma industry.

Here's What You'll Do
  • Act as a conduit in Marketing between Global Team and Local Team to drive business growth
  • Develop and lead brand strategies for the Emerging Markets Region with our local team.
  • Utilize extensive experience in market and customer insights and marketing strategy to drive market development, brand value, differentiation, launch planning, and execution.
  • Collaborate with COVID-19, Influenza, and RSV teams at every development stage through launch, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and successful product launches.
  • Assess and define key value drivers, brand narrative, and go-to-market strategy across a multichannel approach for healthcare providers, governments, health systems, and consumers.
  • Provide project management oversight for all market-defining and launch preparation activities.
  • Contribute to building Moderna's Vaccines commercial organization, partnering with a newly forming team to blaze trails in new markets and accelerate growth.
  • Analyze global markets, competitor programs, distribution channels, and key accounts to inform market assumptions, new product strategies, and forecast assumptions.
  • Collaborate with Regional/Country Marketing and other Commercial and cross-functional leaders to translate global marketing strategy into regional/local operational plans.
  • Lead cross-functional brand teams as products prepare for commercialization.
  • Provide global brand leadership for Moderna commercialized products, working closely with team members dedicated to various products.
  • Navigate complexities inherent in rapid response vaccine development, providing commercial and customer insights to develop and drive product launches.
  • Translate key insights from scientific experts into actionable commercial strategies.
  • Comply with corporate policies, procedures, and applicable healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Explore and implement new marketing channels for growth.
Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 15+ years of progressive excellence in building and growing businesses, with specific experience leading global, regional, or large country marketing.
  • A successful track record of 5+ years in leading market launch brand strategies and teams in emerging markets.
  • High scientific acumen, particularly in infectious diseases, with experience in vaccines.
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrix environment and establishing high-trust relationships with colleagues in finance and regulatory affairs.
Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
  • MBA, PharmD, or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record using digital platforms and technology to gather customer insights and engage with customers innovatively.
  • Experience in implementing tactical marketing, including using novel digital methods to engage with targeted consumers.
  • Demonstrated success in executing innovative marketing plans that set the market standard for therapeutic areas, brand segments, or diseases.
  • Experience developing marketing plans for a broad range of brands, including early-stage programs, utilizing innovative methods to gather deep market and customer insights across the vaccine ecosystem.
  • Experience in building market models and forecasts.
  • Previous success in building markets and leading complex pre-launch and launch stage marketing plans, with vaccine product and/or consumer product marketing experience highly desired.
  • Ability to collaborate across key areas such as marketing, field teams, communications, promotion, physician, trade and consumer channels, pricing and contracting, and government payers. Public policy experience is desirable.
  • Competitive spirit and resilience to take on major competitors in highly competitive markets.
