GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Account Manager is responsible for developing new prospects and interacting with existing customers (international and domestic) to increase the sales of their products and the company's position within new and existing markets. Oversee the functions of the commercial department and assist with planning and directing all aspects of the company's sales policies, objectives, and initiatives, and develop a sales plan to fulfill the growth and revenue goals of the company.

The following is a general list of duties that will be performed by the Account Manager as required. Each duty may not be required daily but may be required as deemed necessary. This list is not all inclusive; therefore, various duties or changes may occur as required.

The responsibilities of this position involve important and sensitive information about the company; therefore, this position must maintain, at all times, extreme professionalism and confidentiality.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Manager the functions of the commercial department to include existing and new (domestic and international).
  • Travel domestically and internationally as necessary to manage new and existing accounts.
  • Assist with planning and directing all aspects of the company's sales policies, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Develop a sales plan to fulfill the growth and revenue goals of the company.
  • Establish technical and business objectives of current and prospective customers and assist with new product development in conjunction with customer requirements.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships and ensure timely and accurate communication - internally and externally.
  • Monitor new customer data and other sales data for current and potential customers in a computer database.
  • Review and verify customer orders, pricing, and specifications prior to acceptance.
  • Establish technical and business objectives/goals of current and prospective customers.
  • Compile list of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information obtained from the President, trade shows, business directories, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Timely pursue sales leads and determine criteria and suitability within company guidelines and standards.
  • Make timely outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers to qualify product sells.
  • Assist with new product development in conjunction with customer requirements.
  • Prepare documentation and organize technical meetings (when required) for product trials.
  • Initiate timely investigation and assist with resolution of customer concerns/problems.
  • Notify the Shipping Department of appropriate customer shipping instructions, and closely monitor orders for completion date and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor finished goods inventory for product match to future orders and/or items which must be sold.
  • Work with Shipping Manager to ensure timely disposal of waste material and accumulated inventory.
  • Work with outside sales representatives to keep account activities up to date.
  • Prepare and maintain customer related reports and documentation.
MISCELLANEOUS:
  • Prepare and maintain procedures, work instructions, forms, and records for the commercial department.
  • Actively participate in company meetings.
  • Actively participate on the Quality Management Team.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Participate in reduction of waste.
  • Continue on-going training for personal growth and development.
  • Continuously monitor market standings through communications, publications, and participation in various conferences and/or courses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma and a minimum of ten (10) years related experience, training and/or continued education.
  • Commercial sales experience, knowledge of manufacturing and/or nonwovens.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts, or governmental regulations. Ability to write professional reports, business correspondence, prepare charts/graphs, and proofread.
  • Use creativity and knowledge to strengthen position and promote ideas and growth within the company.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve/promote quality and monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office computer package to prepare and maintain various documents, graphs, and reports.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and perform various American Standard to Metric Standard conversions.
  • Must be flexible to constant change and well organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks, and prioritize; exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must be capable of traveling (on occasion) as well as participate in various training and developmental opportunities.
