Summary/Objective:

Responsible for promoting, identifying, and coordinating process improvement activities and initiatives by serving as the company advocate for these functions. The primary focus of this role will be to support the company wide initiative by: collecting data, analyzing outputs, and working with manufacturing to determine corrective courses of action necessary to improve Quality, Productivity and Competitive Position. The Process Improvement Coordinator will work with company leadership to prioritize work through the Operational Excellence Program and provide support to drive process improvement behaviors, target elimination of waste, reduce variability, increase employee involvement, and improve customer satisfaction within our manufacturing and business processes.

Essential Functions:

1. Understand, interact, collaborate, and work closely with department frontline supervision and work groups to lead, establish, and implement events and execute improvement activities.

2. Assist in developing and executing data collection processes.

3. Lead related meetings by setting agendas, facilitating meetings, and writing minutes.

4. Lead, and/or participate in both proactive and reactive problem-solving sessions to provide solutions to production difficulties which may include, but not limited to: equipment design, modifications or purchases, customer complaints and hinderances to quality and productivity standards.

5. Lead the company "ID" Team which is a rigorous suggestion/improvement process program.

6. Support Sales and Customer Service on customer issues relating to manufacturing as needed.

7. Support manufacturing in the development of trial plans, executing trials and analyzing results.

8. Serves as the face and voice of the Operational Excellence Program throughout the organization. Look for opportunities to apply principles and processes, drive process discipline and rigor in all OE (Operational Excellence) related work and provide training and coaching as needed.

9. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee must occasionally lift or move 10-50 pounds. The employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, twist, push, and pull. The employee must be able to repetitively use both hands, and able to grasp items using hands and fingers.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Full-time; salary based on experience. 45-50 hours per week. Hours are typically 7am- 5pm. May need to work across various shifts and weekends at various times depending on projects.

Required Education and Experience:

•High School Diploma/GED and minimum of 3 years X, Quality or similar work experience.

•3 - 5 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.

•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, along with other database/business intelligence tools.

•Experience in quantitative and statistical analysis and data collection.

•Highly proficient in communicating findings in clear and concise terms.

•Highly proficient in meeting facilitation.

•Understands queries, report writing/generation and presentation.

•Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word and Power Point.

•Demonstrated ability to take initiative & drive projects with minimal supervision.

•Strong communication skills: written and verbal, formal and informal.

Preferred Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's Degree in a technical related discipline

2. Experience in paper and paper packaging

3. LEAN/SIX Sigma Training/knowledge
