Position Overview

The role of the Process Improvement Lead is pivotal in steering, organizing, and executing the necessary processes for the Advanced Development Engineering Center. This position involves leading or participating in teams focused on enhancing operational processes.

Key Responsibilities
This role is accountable for the effective and timely application of lean methodologies and principles, utilizing project management expertise.

  • Assess current operational performance and pinpoint deficiencies in critical areas that hinder efficient functioning.
  • Formulate and implement enhancement strategies while tracking progress to ensure that updates yield the desired outcomes within stipulated timelines.

Methodology
Enhance processes and systems within the organization and initiate programs that deliver sustained long-term advantages.

  • Design project plans and timelines aimed at refining existing processes.
  • Lead and coordinate significant improvement initiatives across all organizational levels, either directly managing teams or collaborating with members to redesign processes.

Value Delivery
Facilitate the delivery of enhanced value and increased efficiency by identifying and removing unnecessary complexities in business processes, while also discovering improved operational methods.

Performance Monitoring
Establish measurable benchmarks at the onset of projects and regularly compare actual results against these standards, generating detailed progress reports for management.

Coaching and Training
Act as a mentor to organize workshops and team training sessions, sharing expertise and ensuring that learning resources are accessible to all.

Metrics Improvement
Drive overall enhancements in metrics to support First Pass Yield, Efficiency/Productivity, and Utilization within the Test Lab through:

  • Setting baselines from collected data.
  • Identifying tools preferred by teams to track improvement activities monthly, ensuring a centralized location for all team members to document their progress.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Establish cross-functional teams for each area to promote improvement through root cause analysis.

  • Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the Test Lab.
  • Facilitate all capital planning and execution.

Project Management
Prepare comprehensive plans, drive project performance, and ensure timely completion of product/process enhancements using standardized tracking and reporting systems.

On-Site Collaboration
Work alongside teams on the shop floor to conduct waste walks and implement improvement actions.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Minimum of 6 years of demonstrated experience in continuous improvement analysis, including the application of lean principles, statistical tools, process enhancement, and KPI monitoring.

Preferred familiarity with Tableau software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Strong interpersonal skills, decision-making capabilities, and effective communication and organizational skills are essential.

Ability to influence without direct authority, think strategically, envision future states, and drive change is crucial.

Candidates should be well-organized, capable of managing multiple competing priorities, and proactive in following up on regular activities and future projects.

Experience in unionized workforce environments is preferred.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and build rapport with diverse internal and external stakeholders is necessary.
