Grant Accounting Associate Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine 1342 Congress St Portland, ME 04102 The Grant Accounting Associate Position will play a critical role in ensuring appropriate data collection for grant reporting. Our ideal employee is good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information. This person is comfortable using various software programs to import and export data, sorting, separating, identifying missing data, and cleaning data. The goal is to ensure our grantors receive timely and accurate financial information and to also meet federal requirements. This position will report to the CFO but also work closely with the Director of the Refugee Resettlement & Newcomer Services. Our organization continues to grow, and new reporting processes are being adapted. The ability to adapt to change is an important component of the position. The primary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Recording data in Quickbooks Online and other client-specific software programs Managing settings and downloading data into various vendor portals. Identifying and communicating when information is not being captured accurately Being mindful of deadlines and proactively preparing data for reporting Performing monthly reconciliations of the grants Performing other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer Treating all coworkers with respect and communicating professionally This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is full-time, 40 hours per week. The pay is $55K annually. The Holiday Schedule includes Federal Holidays that fall within regularly scheduled hours as well as several Jewish holidays. There is accrued sick time, accrued paid time off as well as personal days. Insurance benefits include health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability and life. After initial 6 months, 401k is available. Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not required for the candidate who appears a good fit overall with a clearly demonstrated ability to think critically and create solutions Experience with accounting for federal grants is a plus Proficient in MS Office and good general knowledge of standard software Ability to work with large amounts of data Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail Excellent time management skills and able to meet deadlines Must be able to adapt to change and willing to learn
